The company was started by the initiative of packaging innovator Frank Martorana. A Marine Corp Veteran, Frank ran one of the most successful Wholesale Packaging Distributors in New York, Spiro Wallach Company.

After being acquired by industry giant Unisource, Frank remained on as a consultant handling enormous national accounts on the company's behalf.

In 2008 Wilkenson & Gray was created utilizing the name of a paper jobber based in NYC during the 1930's, paying homage to Spiro Wallach's roots.

Many current packaging staples were initiated by Frank, including the legal tote and two piece mobile box and countless others. That innovative spirit is now focused on the HPP Food processing market, Farmers and Growers, Moving and Storage industry as well as E- Commerce.

In 2019, Peter Panagakos joined forces with Frank as the new COO and General Manager, utilizing his Marketing strategies and experiences of running distribution companies.

Peter has embarked on what is currently a 30 year career in the Paper, Packaging , Food Service and Janitorial Distribution industry. Starting at Spiro Wallach initially, he moved on to work at several other powerhouse companies as either Executive Vice President, VP of Operations or COO.

With his exceptional problem solving skill, Peter possesses the ingredients and skills for Business Development, Marketing & Purchasing in propelling Wilkenson & Gray above and beyond to new levels.
